Hikvision HikWire blog article Explore Hikvision’s New Products Featuring Low-Light Technology for Consistently Detailed Images

Hikvision has several exciting new products featuring low-light technology for better imaging at night and in strong backlighting. With a range of options available, three new cameras—two with ColorVu technology and one with DarkFighter technology—provide consistent, detailed images no matter the time of day or night.

Panoramic Cameras with ColorVu technology are powered by Hikvision’s pioneering image fusion technologies and provide 180-degree horizontal coverage using a dual lens. These cameras are perfect for displaying a full, detailed picture with smooth and seamless panoramas. ColorVu technology brings vivid, colorful images to life even in dim lighting. Details get enhanced in full color to assist in reviewing forensic evidence for incidents that occur at night.

Other features of the Panoramic Cameras with ColorVu include:

  • 4K UHD resolution (5120 x 1440) with dual lenses
  • False alarm reduction with AcuSense 2.0 technology
  • Proactive deterrence with audio and strobe light features

Another low light technology camera, the ColorVu IP Kit, is Hikvision’s newly released bundled kit that upgrades traditional IR cameras to ColorVu cameras while providing a grab-and-go experience that allows customers to enjoy color images 24/7. Full color images are captured around the clock because of the large F1.0 aperture, high sensitivity sensor, and advanced ISP imaging technology. The plug and play design makes them easier to install and use with no complicated configuration.

The new PCI Varifocal Camera series features our DarkFighter ultra-low light technology improving image brightness, reducing digital noise, and enhancing color rendition. Cameras in this series deliver high quality color video in darkness and capture excellent details in very dim lighting. Built-in heaters in the cameras help protect areas in low-temperature applications ranging from -40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The housings feature NEMA 4x grade anti-corrosion coating to reduce damage from the elements and help maintain performance in mildly corrosive environments. The cameras are also equipped with 2nd Gen AcuSense technology so users can reduce false alarms and use Quick Target Search on the NVR as well as tag triggered events.
