No light, no problem, with Hikvision’s DarkFighterX cameras

“70% of crime happens at night, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss a thing. With Hikvision’s DarkFighterX technology, you get high-resolution, colour video images even in extremely low light conditions – helping you protect your site, your people and your customers 24 hours a day.”

To prevent security breaches and bring criminals to justice, you need good video footage of any incidents that occur. If you can record enough detail – such as criminals’ facial features, height, weight, clothing, and the vehicle they are driving – you will most likely be effective in your response.

The problem is that 70% of all known criminal activity happens at night, under the cover of darkness. This means that traditional security cameras are usually unable to capture clear, colour images of criminals and criminal activity – putting you at a disadvantage in terms of incident detection and evidence collection.

The solution: Hikvision’s DarkFighterX technology
Now, it’s possible to take clear, high-resolution, full-color footage of criminals and incidents in even the lowest-light conditions with Hikvision’s DarkFighterX technology.

Inspired by the human eye, DarkFighterX uses two sensors. The first, which is used for infrared imaging, ensures that video footage is bright and sharp. The second, which detects visible light, allows video images to be reproduced in full and vivid color.

Signals from the two sensors are combined to create one bright, full-colour image in light conditions as low as 0.0005 Lux.

More effective security with DarkFighterX deep learning
DarkFighterX’s low-light, full-colour imaging capabilities are the foundation for a range of deep learning features that help you protect your people and assets. These include smart event detection, automated perimeter-breach alerts, and more – with low-light facial recognition potentially possible in the near future.

Key DarkFighterX features

  • High-resolution, full-colour video imaging at night
at up to 0.0005 Lux. (With black-and-white imaging possible at 0 Lux.)
  • Deep learning and smart event detection features
such as smart event detection, automated perimeter intrusion alerts, and more.
  • High-resolution, long-range video imaging capabilities
with a 35x optical zoom capability that allows a 1-meter object to be displayed at 250 pixels resolution at a distance of 260 meters, which is clear enough to identify it easily.
  • Automated rain wiper and defog capabilities
to ensure effective incident detection in poor weather conditions.
  • Rapid focus and image capture
to ensure that criminals and criminal activity can be captured quickly on video.
